The New Defraggler, An Alternative Defragment Utility

| Tags: ,

Who says you can’t get the best applications for free? The statement has become extinct since applications such as CCleaner came out free for the public. With no tie ups now from the company that gave use CCleaner, Periform has come up with another simple but ingenious tool to make our daily computing lives easier and faster. AlternativeFront.com highly recommends Defraggler from Periform. Its a new addition to the world of must have free software.

From the world itself Defraggler is a small defragment tool that puts the windows defragmenter to shame. Other paid applications that offer similar functions have found another great rival and it is at no cost. Aside from being a simple defragmenter that helps keep fragmented files away from your system, the developers have found a different approach.

Rather than using your whole system resources on defragmenting the whole hard drive, Defraggler enables users to defragment a specific file. This makes it a lesser system hog and a faster solution. We can only expect the best free applications from Periform and there’s no knowing what’s next.

To download the free software visit www.defraggler.com and remember that it comes clean with hidden installations all it has is its good intention in helping people experience a great time on their computers. It is also Vista ready so no need to run it using the annoying process of compatibility mode.

Tried it, but not really my cup of tea. Defraggler choked on large files that my (paid license) Diskeeper 08 pro used to to handle with ease. Also, unlike Diskeeper, there seems to be no way to fully automate defraggler. Neither does it defrag the master file table (most important NTFS file) which Diskeeper does automatically. Interesting experiment, but I am sticking with Diskeeper, especially since the awesome new version 2009 is out.
